  Suzuki SV1000S
May get one of these for the valver - Are they worth it?

If anyone has a 2nd hand one to sell me that would be nice too.

I'm getting one in the near future if there's sum interest in this we should try and organise a group buy...
£165 is the cheapest i've found jus now.

Well they look good I suppose - But they must make the change quicker even just from being shorter I guess!

  MKIII 138
i know ive mentioned it before but there is also one for the 172/182 specially designed by BBPT
prolly better looking at the specs than the B&M one

  20VT Clio & 9-5 HOT
just less travel between gears! seem a lot closer!

5th and reverse just feel tricky to get into!

The vid on BB's site makes the 172 one seem like a very bad idea, he seems to have trouble getting gears and it looks notchy

  20VT Clio & 9-5 HOT
i find changin down to 3rd a bit weird!

have to push it slightly to the left or it takes 2 pushes to get in!

Well I still haven't actually got it yet lol! It is being MOT'd on Monday so should have it next week - Wheels are still sitting in my room teasing me!!

I don't liek it it does speed the change up but you cannot rush the box anyway as its not exactly amazing.

i havent tried driving a car with a quickshft but ive tried it stationery and it does feel very notchy, it feels as if your going into the wrong gear, but it did feel more surefooted though, i can see what your saying about the vid but i think they did it after fitting so it would feel alien to someone not used to it,

anyway im intersted if there is a group buy going

id be interested in a group buy if someone sorts one out. they are pretty good, dont make a massive improvement just reduces the time it takes to change gear thats all.

Think we need to see if any off the companys offer a discount for them to cliosport meebers first, how about demon tweeks?

MSW are the cheapest at 165 notes and said they'd be prepared to do a discount...

ive recently tested the B&M shifter and the new MB Engineering shifter from BB tunning at williamsclio's trackday at Donnington.

The report isnt fully written up yet, but i'll give u some inside info -

The B&M will need a mod to the reverse lock collar so it will go into reverse gear propally. 2.0mm of aluminium is to be removed ! 5th gear was very funny to get in (appartly something will need to be adjusted at the linkage) like you had to rotate the shifter to the left when inserting. The B&M has plastic parts which WILL wear.
And the B&M sits far to low down and unless you have bucket seats - the feeling of sitting on a high chair is werid in a sporty hot hatch.

The MB Engineering one fits with no mods and is a better height (still not as high as a standard shifter) and produces the same short throw pattern. No plastic parts to wear and a nicer shaped knob....so gets my thumbs up.

Keep checking for my test feature guys - I'll keep you updated.

reverse and 5th become super vauge and you have to stretch to the lever....hate them.

yup, utter pants, i've tried them several times and never liked or been able to get used to them. to get the thing into 5th it was a case of rotating the lever round to the right as well and it popped out of 5th quite often, but also felt vague as hell. the height is wrong as stated and they wear your synchros (sp?) quicker... could explain why certain people that use them go through 2 or 3 gear boxes a year... in all, utter shite, you'd be better burning your money, at least that way it's then spent and it wont damage your already frail as f**k chocolate Renault box.

total pants.

They dont help you shift faster at all and the box's dont like to be rushed anyway.

Plus its now winter, and they are freezing.

surely you dont need a shortshifter to chagne gear as quickly as the box will allow? If you change gear and the box is still at too high revs for the speed in that gear, it just gonna drop the revs anyway. £165 on a shoirt gear stick, or practicing decent gear changes.... I no what i did, and i dont have a short gear stick
