Hmm...that video on BB website does look quite awkward...i never had any issues with the one i had in my mk1 megane. :-s
I think a lot of the problems are that since the original lever gives more leverage, it can mask a lot of poorly fitting components...slapping the short throw on will show up these issues as well as generally requiring more effort to move. Like i said, i never had issues on my megane but that had done 45k...maybe by that point all the box/shifting components are well worn in and manfacturing/casting inaccuracies are worn away?
