Baby seat for V6

Im going to be a dad!

Just found out a few days ago, Im so excited, thought id let you all know.

Anyway going to need a baby seat for my vee! How much are they? Am i best off getting a Renault one or an after market one? Any tips?

Just thought, i assume that the new v6 mk2 has got the option of turning the airbag off??

All the other new clios have, havent they?

Steve

If you watched Top Gear last Sunday night, you should have learned where to put the baby!

Underneath the bonnet - well that is where Jeremy put his baby!

I wouldnt think there is anywhere in a V6 that is safe enough for a baby seat SO YOU HAD BETTER GIVE THE CAR TO ME!

:D

No chance!! GR i know your mad for it (v6s that is), but keep youre hands off.

Are you going to TRAX2003 in September??

Recaro Start is a great seat but not for newborns. I have a couple. They grow with the child as well and are very adjustable.

Congratulations.

Oh go on Steve, let me look after it for you until the baby goes to school as I dont think you will fit both your wife and baby in it!!

I promise I will wash it every other day and polish it every week!

Nearly forgot to say

  Hippys bus of LOVE !!!

Never looked at the Renault seats, Ive got Recaros, but as already stated too big for babies.

Dont Renault use Britax to manufacture their baby seat anyway ?

GR and everyone else, thanks for the congrats. Im more excited than the misses, cant wait!!

And before you all keep on about me ditching the vee, the misses has already got a Scenic so sorry, the the vee is staying.

P.S. Have always wondered how you change your car details under the forum name and stars?? Any one know?

nice one fella. Good to hear your plubings in good order.

As for baby seats I thing a recaro with a matching leather/alcantara trim is in order. Oh and a subfram to bolt onto the top of your engine cover :)

Cheers everyone for all the congrats and help on the child seat thing. If i buy a renault isofix seat will it fit in the scenic as well as the clio??

Start with the baby as you mean to go on...a V6 is a great start for a kid!!!! Mine wants me to get one (my kid an a V6 that is) ;)

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

VivJ, you could always buy my Mk1 in a few months time. Not even 7k on the clock yet!

Its going to be the coolest baby on the streets of Bedford!:D

As ive only got nine weeks and 2 days til my first is due, i know about the car seat thing! Weve got one from Mamas and Papas for the first new born baby months, but then ive got my eye on a one also from Mamas and Papas which matches the blue grey 172 leather/alcantra perfectly

Halfords also do the mini Recaro seats aswell

Conratulations by the way

Congrats mate, I also had a Mamas and Papas seat (part of a 3-in-1 pram, pushchair, carseat type thingy) for the newborn, but he grew out of it within 6 months.

I then bought the ONLY* ISOFIX seat I could find - the Duo by Britax which not only matches my grey alcantara nicely, but is also the easiest and safest seat to fix. Cost £160 from Mothercare (use them, they will grumble if you fit the seat in the front like I have, but having only two doors means its the only way unless youre a contorsionist - the girl told me even though I can turn the Airbag off, it may deploy accidentally!!!!).

*I tried purchasing a genuine Renault ISOFIX seat, but the dealer new jack sh*t about them, couldnt give me a price and didnt know who to ask. Idiots.
