Back seats out

  Pink & Blue 182, JDM DC2

Ive taken the back seats out, completely, from my Cup and the difference does seem quite significant.

Is it mind over matter, or does it seriously improve performance? I have found it feels noticably quicker without the rear seats/parcel shelf yet it cant be that much additional weight.

When I stripped my Cup out for York I weighed the bits and it didnt save as much weight as Id thought...

Rear Seat (lower) - 5kg

Rear Sear (upper) - 10kg

Seat Mount Bar - 3kg

Jack & toolkit - 4kg

Parcel shelf - 1.5kg

Boot Carpet - 2kg

Total = 25.5kg

This is only the same weight as the climate control, so not much!

yes in theory it will be, certainly seemed quicker when i had all my interior out to chuck my bike in the back of the 16v, but its alot of in your head aswell.

its a cup - isnt it light enough!?! take the front seats out and sit on a milkcrate, and your stereo weighs a few kilos aswell...

seriously though i spose the weight diff between the cup and 172 is around 86kg?? ( que boffins) and thats not a huge amount isit!! same as a normal size passenger.

LOL. Its the sound of the exhaust, the roar of the induction and the enthusiasm that makes it quicker then. Hehe!

Re: passenger, I hardly ever have passengers, so its kind of like, well not gonna need them then, strip it out, stuff in loft. :)
