Balljoint cost?

I am needing a new balljoint for my Mk1 clio. It's the balljoint that joins onto the bottom of the hub (not the track rod). I was replacing the hub and realised the gaitor was split so I got a new one from the scrappy but it's not in great condition. It will do for the meantime as it's not got any real damage to it but I would like to get one in better condition.

How much would renault charge roughly for one or is there anywhere else I could pick one up brand new?

You could go the non-genuine parts way, looking at £20 I recon for it.

ah well, fcuk that. I'll stick with the one from the scrappies just now. It was only three pounds and although not great it isn't too bad. Do these tend to haveto be replaced after a while anyway or only if the gaitor splits? How can I tell if the oneI got from the scrappies is OK other than twidling it, LOL.
