banging in 1st and 2nd gear

only under full flat out acceleration in my 172 cup..theres a slight banging or knocking from the front end noticable in 1st and odd times 2nd..should i be worried?

Sounds like the engine mounts to me, allowing the engine to rock back and forth? I think that its a well documented "feature" of the 172/182, certainly in 1st gear.

engine mounts, either the dog bone or the mount on the gearbox, the dog bone isnt much kop so the engine bangs against the sub frame, get it up on a ramp and have a look

I get it too, thought it was just wheel spin tbh.

Engine mounts are tight however they are never perfect are they.
