Bare metal scratch

I've come to my car to find a lovey scratch down it, to the bare metal, which is great. I know It will need a respray but is there anything I can/need to do to keep it from getting worse/rusting, I can't get it sorted for a few months, It's not an option. It's about 3 inches long.

touch up pen thingy and put a bit in it then a decent wax on top to protect it a bit more

think yourself lucky... mines all the way from the rear arch to the front wing

but yeah, as above, ive ordered a pen from reno

The body is zinc proofed against rust... put some clear nail polish from the girlfriend over the scratch to seal it!
