Bathurst

I've got to admit I have a soft spot for pieces prior to racing events that have old footage reminding you of the history of the sport and the specific track they're racing on.

  B/G 182 + PH1 Track
I'd personally say BTCC is on the way back up in terms of support, it's just a shame it's hidden away on ITV4 for the time being.

Agreed but imagine the complains theyd get if all ITV showed on a sunday was the BTCC.

That Video is great, love things like that before races/events.

But haven't the FIA ruined next year by pretty much excluding any BMW customer cars and put further restrictions on cars built this year making them redundant come next season?

But i agree other than thinking the cars they use to have are lame american/aussy cr*p the event and the marketing is pretty damn cool.

  Fiesta ST3
this was on motors tv yesterday the full race over 6 hours worth great racing watched nearly all of it :approve:
the cars were only doing 25-31 laps before they needed re-fueling and it was a 161 lap race...
they dont mess around driver change, re-fuel,brake disc and pad change, alll under 60 seconds..

The BTCC have proposed to change the rules for 2011 (as far as i know) which is no RWD and all cars need to be saloons (bye bye civic and focus), all cars running 2lt Turbo's

(assuming you were talking about BTCC and not V8's)

The FIA need get a grip. As already mentioned, they seem to f**k everything up including the biggest championship in the world...F1. For years we seem to look back at the glory days of motorsport and marvel in it. If it wasn't for stupid rules making the cars behave all the same as each other we'd still have breath taking racing.....if the guys at the FIA think it takes a feild of boring 2.0 turbos to make close racing they should watch this....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kY5zdnGvT0c&feature=related

1300cc Mini's v RS1600 Escorts v 6.0l yank tanks.......I was glued to the screen watching this

fia should be ok soon when that bandit n his kronies go...

BTCC is amazing, granted ITV dont do a good enough good but it only needs a few tweaks, it is a monumental series, my favourite

adore Bathurst, watch it every year, talk about rough and ready!!

on motors tv tonight at 21.15 ;)

They repeated the entire race on Sunday. I watched most of it! The Aussie V8s have some fantastic close racing, even on a track such as Bathurst, and over that distance, they're still nose to tail lap after lap.

It looks an amazing circuit too.

I love the Aussie V8's !
the TV work is brilliant - some of the in-car shots are fantastic, loads of different angles in the cockpit and some in the suspension! Plus cam's on the pit crew helmets. Brilliant stuff.

  RSC 182 Cup
Bathust has sucked ever since they changed it to a "two brand" race, Ford vs Holden. Years ago you had everything competing from the Jags above through to Corollas, Skyline GTRs, Minis- you name it they could race! It was far more interesting.

Personally I find it boring now. :(

Bring back the old format.....

We had 2 litre Tourers out here for a while racing in a separate formula, but they got steam rolled with poor media coverage and unfortunately it died out.
