Battery replacement for key

Anyone know how to replace the battery in the renault key fobs (03 cup)

Sorry to be apain and yes I did do a search

My mates has got the same problem for his Y Reg Clio, hes had the case off before just didnt do it on purpose (i.e. he dropped it). It has work away on the bit that helps you open it so its a nightmare.

Done it

Take ring off key

Hold metal part of key by hand holding it so you are looking down at the button part

Place thumb over the top half of key and slide backwards et voila



Battery had just come out on mine so no need to buy a new one!!

what about the 00 keys? mine is a vreg 1.6 16v and i cant get the keys open for love or money! using the techinque you say above doesnt work. In fact theres a slide indicator and it points opposite way to what you are saying on here on my keys.

One of them has failed already and the other battery may go at at any time so i need to get in it desperately!

DAz sounds like the smae key as mine has the directional arrow, just needs a bit of welly try putting thumb behind it or if not get a flat blade screw dricer and lever the f**ker offf!

I did think about the screwdriver, ill try that one i think.

best way is to get the key with the arrow side face up and put a flat screwdriver in where the key ring goes and lever in the direction of the arrow!!
