as any reputable ICE dealer what their opinions of 6x9s are, they will tell you exactly the same as i have put above, if not, they should be working in Halford or TMC
basically, the ideal set-up for any car is a set of components up front with the tweeter mounted within two inches of the mid, one 8 or 10 inch sub (or a couple of 6" subs mounted on shelf may be suffice) powered from two individual amps, this will give the best overall sound stage, oh and a s**t load of sound deadening
worryingly a main reason people buy 6x9s is so their rear seat passengers have something other than bass to listen to, if this is the case, get some co-axials for the factory locations and power them off the head unit, but at the end of the day, why buy speakers for anyone else? you drive the car, listen to it the way you would like to listen to it
this is proven to be the best quality set-up, if you dont like it, who cares, i just thought id best put the reasons for not having 6x9s, i still havent heard a good argument for using 6x9s and i work part time as an installer, and ive heard all the reasons people can possibly give
