Best air filter

I want the closest thing to the noise of an open cone filter but with the breathing gains of an enclosed setup - anyone have any ideas what will do this the best on my 172?

Maxogen if you wanna spend £250+ otherwise an Espace V6 airbox for £60 from Renault. Wouldnt bother with anything else tbh unless its the standard box with a panel filter.

I've seen a lot of people recommending the espace airbox, does it sound like an open cone induction kit would?

It was used by the cup racers and without an air feed into it its quite loud yes!

Note that is a ph1 airbox being used not a ph2, the ph2 box is in general not as good. A V6 Espace box is basicly a ph1 box with a larger air intake.

A Ph 1 airbox with uprated feeds is what I have. Goes somthing like this.
