Best DVD burning software,

I have a film im wanting to burn to a dvd to watch with the mrs,

Whats the best thing to use? Im wanting to keep as much quality as possible,

I was actually needing help with this too this week. I'm aware Win7 has the capability to burn an .img file to DVD-R, which will work fine. However what about converting and burning a .avi?

My DVD player doesn't have the ability to play DivX, so I can't burn it as a data DVD
