Best format to rip DVD's too?

All legal and above board lol!!

Just for copying onto a ps3, I have choices of Divx, Divx(AVI), MP3, MP4 and a few others, which format is 'best'?

'Best' for me means the 'best' compromise between quality and 'space'

Many thanks

personally, I have found the best thing to use is dvd shrink to rip the dvd, then I use autogk to convert the file to xvid.

For playing them on the PS3 - DVD Shrink. Set the output as 'file' instead of image. In the options, set it to NOT break up the files into 1GB chunks. Then rip. Depending on how you have authored the 'disc' you may well end if with 3 or more VOB files. Look for the biggest one, and that will be the main feature in one *.vob

Copy the vob to the PS3. Watch it.

Thanks Roy but I don't have DVD Shrink, I have a programme called Intervideo DVD copy. I 'ripped' Lock Stock earlier and it took 3 hours+ lol!

Would the speed of my laptop T2800 core duo 1.5 gigs make it that slow lol?

Will try and use my gaming laptop next to see if that speeds things up, although not sure if dvd software is vista compatible!

AFAIK DVD Shrink is free. It's all I ever use. Been using it for several years. That and ImgBurn are all you need normally.
