Mine came with ContiSports; not sure if it's the same on other 172 models.

Thought they were decent; but F1s are better.

The best I have used are Toyo Proxes T1-S tyres.

I've always heard bad things about the older Toyo Proxes.

Falken ZE512 or FK451s depending on wheel size. Not too pricey & good all weather conditions

They are the current ones I think - I thought the R's were the old ones - Anyway have had both on my old 172 and they both performed brilliantly. Better than the conti's - F1 never seemed worth the price as the grip from the toyo's was hard to fulter!

I have Conti's at the moment and had Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3's before... I had more grip in the dry with the F1's.
