I like that! Kind of retro cool!

New tyres, bit of handlebar tape and leave it alone! Adds to the character. (Obv make sure its safe first! lol)

Thats the plan, I'm glad someone else has my "vision" lol!

I just need to know its not a total sh*tter first, i.e was it once a good bike?

The guy is 10 minutes away and has said I can have it for £30, I'll knock him to £25 with ease. I reckon put about 40 quid into it, and maybe a new seat, and I'd be done.

Edit: I really want This but it'll get very expensive blatantly and is far away. :(

lol ok, I had looked up fixies at some earlier point just to see what they were!

I've got a friend sorting me out with a 40 year old racer, just needs some new tyres, a whole new level of cool on the way to work :D!

40 year old bikes will have imperial wheels so you'll need 28" tyres prob not the modern 700c's

I can't tell if its crud from a picture mate. But one thing I will say is this. Working at halfords, older bikes are build much better than newer ones.

Cheers Rory/Jason. Despite not going for the one in the link above, I am going for an old one.

I guess I'll find out soon enough what tyres etc I need, but seeing as this bike isn't costing me anything I don't mind spending a few quid to get it in tip top condition, I think it'll be getting a full service at my local bike store and I'll be on may way.

Gimmie a few weeks and I'll be posting up the "knocked off my bike" thread :D
