2001 1.4 16V Thalia

Hi,

i recently got myself said car and started to optimize my daily "sh+tbox project" car.

Already changed stock seats from the original "broke ass edition" to "premium sport edition" so i can go without physical pain my weekly needed trips of 600-700km.

OFC 2nd change was sport air filter, new spark plugs, new engine oil, stereo system, sport mirrors....

Car was always serviced by the previous owner, only had 105k km on the clock but exterior was and is slightly roughen up.

I wanna change front bumper to campus style, lower it 30mm and maybe fit other rims and tyres on it. maybe sport exhaust. maybe rear wing, maybe i go fully nuts and try to fit rally body panels on it to make it a saloon clio cup car (at least from the outside)...

Or i leave it as is cause most perfect upgrade was done with the putting a "shitbox edition" sticker on

Im glad i found this place in the hope i can share ideas with you and maybe get some needed help cause in general im more of a 2stroke bike nerd and only made the driver licence for a car after long complains from my wife

Such an alien looking car with a boot, so used to how a mk2 Clio should look, but I actually like it, always liked a small car with a boot. No idea if they ever made the Thalia in RHD, but if they did and I was wealthy I'd import one to 182 swap it for the lols.

This is facelift version, you can get also Phase1 Front and the "new" modern Clio C Front.
But you only get the 1.4 16V (98hp) engine up to this early Phase 2 Models. Later Phase 2 (with campus styling bumper) and Clio C Thalia/Symbol only have Diesel and 1.2 16V engines. I wanted MAX HP so i ended up with this one. 1.6 16V Version you only get in South America as Nissan Branded ones.
In general these Thalia/Symbols are quite "Frankenstein" Clios....like mine where you have Phase 2 Exterior but interior is still Phase1...Thalia 2 has Clio C Style Front but runs on the older Campus 5door Frame....
They are quite popular here in Slovakia, Hungary, Turkey cause you get 550l Boot in a small economy Car for very cheap price. I find it very funny cause when you think, in Austria they where never sold and Slovakia/Hungary is litteraly quite next to it. So in Austria you will end up with a quite more expensiver Laguna or VW if you just want a larger boot....

But the Dacia Logan is based on the same plattform, so maybe they get sold as RHD in GB? But imo the Dacia Logan 1 is the ugliest looking Version which you can get out of the Clio Frame

I also thought about engine swap (k20) but when i bought the interior of a 182 the owner said: you cant even fit 182/172 fenders and bumpers on a regular Clio cause Renault changed some mountingpoints. Now i have also a Phase 2 Dashboare laying around, but its not a plug&play job to fit it in - cause of this i found this forum in the first place

I have a Wiechers Front Strut bar also laying around - it didnt fit into my older Campus but it will fit without proplem into this Thalia only cause in the Campus the Dome is slighty different...

In some days i will pick up some 7Jx15 Rims with 205/50/15 Rubber on it and will fit them...but only after i got some lower springs
