Bird poo

Can it damage/affect your paintwork.

My car is filthy and in desperate need of a clean, but i have no chance to clean it due to work etc until the weekend, and there is alot of bird poo on the car for some reason, will this do any damage to the paintwork? some of it has been on there for around a week already.

I think its quite accidic. It does stain the paintwork if left on too long and is hard to get out, Mine had to be wet sanded and polished.

Best just putting some warm water with tissue paper over them then wiping them off.

It most certainly does I'm afraid. When it hits the car it can leave very small 'divots' in the clearcoat from the impact, and if left on it tends to stain, leaving a poo-shaped mark on the paint. More often than not these will be stuck there until such a time as you can polish them out.

Renault paint is like cheese seems to etch into it straight away, get it off asap.

Like Rich says . Get if off asap as it will etch into the paint . If the birds have been eating berries it seems to be worse and can be very acidic .

Always have a bottle off quick detailer and a couple of microfibres in the car in case of emergencies ;)
