bit of an accident...

  Trophy No #264
Right,

had a bit of an accident involving a 5 litre bottle of Comma's finest 5w/40 motorsport oil emptying itself into the boot of my car. whoops.

After trying to soak it up with rags and driving around for a few weeks with a permanent headache i have spent several hours using every detergent known to man in a last gasped effort to stop my car smelling like an MOT test station's waiting room.

The carpet is just drying now, but if i fail does anyone have a carpet that they don't use (maybe striped it out to get some weight out of the car) or know where i can get one?

I assume that buying one from a Renault stealer will involve me needing an appointment with my bank manager first...

Ditch the carpet & get the boot cleaned down with hot soapy water mate.
Then get on ebay for a replacement !

A lad i know did the same with 3 litres of Dulux gloss.

Horrific

I had a 3 litre bottle of Strongbow explode on my back seat the other week.

Luckily it rolled onto the floor before it spilled, so the only damage was the floor behind the drivers seat, but it still smells. :(

If I get pulled over by the police, they're going to think I've been drinking.

I did it with tin of Dulux, opened boot to be confronted with white "sheet". Couldn't recall leaving a sheet in the car, looked closer and heart sank. Absolute nightmare tbh.

Valet Pro do an Enzyme Odour Eater, this can be diluted down to the required strength.

Spray the product on and scrub with an upholstery brush, ideally this should be then wet vac'd out.. then spray a little more on and leave it do do its magic...

this stuff is superb on any type of spillage

i spilt some of that liquid stuff that you use to mark out white lines on football/rugby pitches on, but i only spilt a little bit so it looks like some one has had a w**k in my boot!

my so-called best mate 'wilson' spilt a 10L tub of B&Q white emulsion all over the back seat of his motor last year.. to say i pissed myself would be an under statement lol

Left a bottle of coolant in the boot and didn't realise it had leaked all over the carpet until I took my bag out of the boot and saw a wet patch on the bottom, which had also soaked through and ruined a pair of jeans. Never could get rid of it so I got rid....
