i have latest version of bittorrent which is 6.0.2 and have found that since i installed i cant get any download or number of downloads to be faster than 25 kb/s....is there a setting this can be adjusted on?

right click the actual icon in system tray and should be in there (down limit) etc

isit definatly stuck on 25, like isit steady 25 or isit going down and over? could just be the seeds?

it wont exceed 25 either as a single download or combined, only running one at moment at its 10, maybe as you say just seeds, i did wonder if they limited you if you didnt seed yourself

depends where you download from, but most places have a no seed policy, usually the invite only ones you need to keep a minimum of .8 or 1.0 ratio, buit if you dont keep the ratio they just stop your downloads completely

have you had a look in the options?

change to utorrent to see if it helps,sounds like your gettin traffic shaped tho if it wont go above 25k with any torrent, had the same with pipex, couldnt get above 20k on torrents, that was until i seen the light and moved to newnet, get a constant 860k with most of my torrents now, happy days

cheers tiger, how do i change utorrent to be the default programme for downloading torrents

download a torrent then right click the torrent, open with, then select utorrent, check the "always use this program for this type of file".

alternativley it should ask you whether you want it set to default on installation

either that just uninstall bit torrent and it should automatically open utorrent

ps: i take it youve got the relevant ports opened on your router?
