Bluetooth Kits
Please remember when buying a Bluetooth kit a cradle/holder must be purchased to use in the car(To comply with the law), also remember that Bluetooth kits do not work with every phone even if they have bluetooth!

They do not charge the phone either, so for prolonged use (p800, p900, 3650 6600 and 7650 owners) a car charger is vital

Is it hard to install a kit?

No its no more difficult than fitting a stereo or any 12v accessory

Whats that about a cradle being necessary to be legal? not sure I agree with that, the law states you are not allowed to hold the phone.

My phone lies in the dashboard tray and I can push the button on the HCB-30 remote button bit to answer calls, increase volume etc. And it seems that the law is a bit grey on the pushing buttons bit!!! With a bluetooth phone the phone can be in a jacket pocket and still be used so why would you need a cradle to be legal?

That would qualify as a holder.

sorry if that wasnt clear.

Or you could put it on the seat next to you and that would qualify as a holder too!!!! I accept no claims for you being pulled over by the police for driving whilst trying to retrieve your phone from the other side of the car wedged on the floor by the door as a result of putting it on a seat!!

I am looking at buying the Motorola HF850 kit and fitting it myself.
Does anyone have any experience or pointers?

Have found this picture of the component parts:

hf850box.gif

  1. I'm thinking a 12v supply from the cig lighter? crimped connectors so it can be removed. but soldered connections for strength[/*]
  2. Integrate with car audio - is all i need a jack to phono lead and the aux input on my headunit? searched internet but just found places wanting to charge for fitting![/*]
  3. Microphone run under the dash to the instrument cowl[/*]
  4. interface either hidden in ashtray or mounted where the ESP switch would be on a 182[/*]

    Any help gratefully recieved.
