Not masked up , overspray on your grill ! Tbh mate doesn't sound like a pro bodyshop to me .

Moral of the story is don't get a mate to do work for you , it can cause too many problems as in your case , work not done to a high standard or not done at all .

Tbh even though he's a friend you should always get things in writing, so that A, he knows what you want doing & B, you know what your being quoted for.

I'd speak to him about & explain why your not 100% happy.

tbf i had loads of calls to him so he should of known what was doin, and i had put it up on the forum he uses what was to be done so he knew

a good sprayjob is all about preparation

So wheres the problem??

1: Just get him to do the rest of the work, maybe a cpl of days extra
2: This is a bit poor but a bit of a polish should get rid of the over spray
3: What has this got to do with your bodyshop? Maybe you should clean your wheels every now and then

anyway...think yourself lucky this is my car after a full respray a cpl of weeks back http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?p=1780234#post1780234

Paper is a good thing, if i ever have work done, i document it all on paper - then get the bodyshop to sign it which then forms an agreement. No excuses, and less faffing around.

he sed he didnt no i wanted the work done even though thats what i asked for and thats what he quoted me on

over spray not too fussed about as as you said it can be sorted

and well my wheels get washed every day :S and im not kidding as my mates will tell you im abit of a freak about them, so they were perfect before they went in

Im sure the brake dust has not eaten your wheel laquer in 8 days lol

  AMV8, Mk1 Golf
well it would seem something has.. and i know they were not like that when i took it in! as my wheels are only a month or so old

got pics just need to upload them

this was the 1st time ive ever had any work done so i guess just have to learn by your mistakes

  AMV8, Mk1 Golf
so do i, just means ive got to be without my car again when i really cant afford it, do i just sack him off and take it to another body shop that i know will make it perfect?

I'd take it back and let him sort it out . It was his job initially so his job to sort out any problems .

I'm not sure what your problem with the brake dust on the wheels is ? Did he do some work on your wheels as well ??

Overspray from a bodyshop isn't professional imo, they should know prepping is THE most important part of any such job. Sounds like they ain't a good outfit imo.

  Chocolate Bar™
you really have to go to a recommended bodyshop, i've finally found one i'm happy with. he delayed me with some bits for only about 3 days last week, and knocked me 100 quid off the price, cant say better than that :)

  AMV8, Mk1 Golf
well ive just been informed it is in fact overspray on my wheels, had my bodyshop at work take a look at it

take it back to them, point out all the problems, point out the work that hasnt been done, and tell them to sort it!

  Caddy Maxi
mate if you've not even spoken to them how will they know, i'm sure that they will sort it you withouth hassle, grow abackbone man and go speak to them like adults speak and you'll be surprised how much quicker things get sorted

Arr thats s**t sorry to hear about that, if i were you, i would take it back point out all the things that have ben fcuked up say what it is (overspray - wheels) should make sure he knows your not stupid then tell him to put it right without paying the £100 as the job is no way satifactory and they have in fact damaged your car.
also what else is it that they didnt actually do after you told them to>?

  AMV8, Mk1 Golf
i asked for the number plate resess to be taken out and smoothed over.

if i didnt no the guy i wouldnt have a problem in giving them s**t but its because its ment to be a mate

  RS Meg 175
well in all fairness, i would still give em some hammer time for the c*ckups theyve caused.
A mate that has ripped you off? f*ck that.

How do you know he has ripped him off?

If he is a mate just call him up and ask him politely why he didnt do your number plate recess? You dont need guts to do this, it may of been a genuine mistake and he may of forgotten.

If the overspray on your wheels isnt too bad it will polish out with a bit of elbow grease

So basically all he has done wrong is forgot to do your number plate recess and a bit of overspray on your wheels?

  AMV8, Mk1 Golf
not sprayed under side of front bumper,
only sprayed top of handles
door card not put on correctly
over spray on grille
over spray on wheels
not taken resess out
masking take gue on paintwork
