Bonnet liner.

The black Bonnet liner on the underneath of my bonnet is very oily. So much so that it gets oil over the engine cover! The engine is not leaking oil or anything like that but my 182 has covered 58k so I think its just a build up or road grime!! Can this be cleaned or should I just buy a new one. Anyone know how much they cost if I do have to buy one?

Does the car actually need it what does it do? Noise reduction? Heat?

just noise reduction as far as im aware, I know many have removed it and not had any problems
