When I stripped the car out years ago I removed the interior lights.
As the plug is still there I just thought it would be nice to have a bit of light when I open the boot now as my eyes are getting worse 😂
I got a couple of LED units as I have no idea where the original light is now and just tried connecting the wires to the plug and it was nice and bright, so set about making a small loom that would connect to the plug and the LED unit then when I connected it it was about a 1/4 of the brightness from when I tested it a few days ago.
I checked the voltage at the plug and it is over 12v so nothing wrong there but whenever the light is connected it just is not as bright as it should be, I checked it by connecting to the number plate light and it is full brightness from there.
I don't understand why this is happening when there is the voltage there to power it, is there something in the circuit that could be causing it to be dimmed down?
