Boot lighting

I got a boot build and i am looking to install a few small LED lights in the boot to illuminate the sound system, i was wondering could i wire these into the small light which is already in the boot so that when i open the boot the LED lights will come on saving me putting in a switch?

what u mean by that mate? i just take the wires out of the light and join on the ones for my led's?

leave the light as it is and just solder onto the wiring on the loom then fuse it
