boot locking mech rattling like ......

anyone can help i would be so grateful

it is the piece of metal that links the boot lock to the boot button mech

it rattles like hell and its been doing it for soooo long, only just stripped the car to take a look

any help will get a pint when i see them

Mine did this. You need to undo the bolt that holds it on then adjust it a bit until the boot shuts with no movement. Should sort it

Mine has done it since I got rear ended last year. Luckily the exhaust rattling is currently drowning it out!!!

Is this the rattle that if you have your music on loud and you stand outside by the boot and you can hear the panels in the boot rattle?

And like when you go over bumps too..

Mine has started doing this too and the boot no longer shuts straight.

I do think it is because the car had been bumped from the rear arch and it isn't central but since we took it apart its alot worse.

I have taken the whole thing apart and WD-40d the lot. It seems to have helped but it is still there.

I would also welcome and solutions to this annoying problem...

mine does this and when i shut the boot the metal pice moves into the bumber and i have to pull it out again and retighten the * shapped screw each time i open it. got used to it noe tho, its a Reno

yeah sam i know what you mean mate, i took mine apart and it made it worse, but now i have greased it and i have also line the boot metal with sound deadening to try and make it fit more snug against the rubber seal.

its kinda worked but the car hasnt left the garage yet due to messing with seats out/airbag/ general sh1t
