bose.....anyone got any of their stuff?

i have the ipod dock which just really used since i got it at xmas and have to say very impressed with it. thinking of buying a bose wave system for my mum for xmas.

They are form over function, but sound quite good for what they are. Ideal as a present perhaps, but not for an audiophile :D

The Bose wave system sounds pretty good, the mother in law has one, snazzy remote control, can't say i'd pay a grand for one though. I've got the quiet comfort 2 noise cancelling headphones, they are worth their weight in gold on a plane if your long-hauling, sound quality is very good, wierd feeling first time you turn them on though.

linn decent enough for you?

I should think so :D I only have an old NAD C521 which I play through my Denon AV amp through Missions, but I'd still "take The Pepsi Challenge with that Bose s**t any old day of the week"

By the way I wasn't slagging off the Bose. I don't have much experience with them at all, but what I do 'know' echoes my original post :)

  Golf R soon...
I've had the Ipod docking station for almost two years now and its fantastic for such a small piece of kit! Mines in white! :)

My room is a little on the small side so the sound just bounces off the walls! :D

Defo form over function. They do sound good but IMO for the money they cost a lot better sound wise could be achieved depends what you want.

Dont think you would be dissapointed either way

bose is 100% NOT crap! the wave radios are astonishing bits of kit. Have any of you guys actually heard them? I kid you not they sound like a full AV setup all coming out of a tiny box. Awsome.

The Surround setups are good, very good in fact my only issue with them is they they are excessivley expensive. A Mate of mine has one of the lifstyle 5.1 kits got it from the bose outlet for a bargain price of erm £1800!! Its very good but my Harmon Kardon gear (RRP about 1k) is just as good.

On the subject of Linn the same m8 of mine with the bose also has a linn amp and CD player just on two speakers. Knocks socks off the bose !

Agree with you there definietely not crap just overpriced and outclassed with kit in the same price bracket BUT if you have a fair wedge of spare coin and arent an audiophile you wouldnt be dissapointed its fair to say

I just like to get value for money! BOSE doesnt offer that. There in car setups arent that great to be honest. I have the BOSE setup in my S3 and pound per pound the kit I had in my old coupe owned it
