had my first one for 3 years and it never let me down and was the best car i have ever owned. then bought a house about a year ago so it had to go for something very economical for a long daily round trip to work. found myself on e bay looking though a few weeks back and a ph1 in red kept popping up with 60k on the clock. then it came back on saying car is over heating so i took a silly bid...............its now in my dad's garage with him spitting feathers after just finishing changing the water pump, aux belt and cambelt kits even though it says in the service book a full service was done at 40k (in 2005). can never be to sure. plan was to sell it but now its fixed and running its so tempting to keep. wondered if some of the guys are still on here from a few years ago etc? middo and dave with the liquid gold 182?

Middos still around mate. Saw him only on Saturday. He has a ph1 172 in Sunflower yellow.

thats the dog. just been out in it tonight running quietly and smooth. free cam belt and aux belt kit changes and water pump. thats the sort of labour bills you wants. bette than payying the main stealers. got to get the interior bits now as its abit rough with broken door handles etc.

yea me and a friend went too look at that it was in a sorry state and the bloke wanted far to much for it at the time.

your right it was a tad rough to say the least!! was the tensior that had failed on the aux belt causing most of the problems. all the broken interior bits should be here mid next week. its cost me 1400 so far plus another 100 for interior bits and an engine mount. quiet happy at that.
