brake compensator

Hi

I have a clio cup 172. Its just failed its first MOT due to low rear brake effort. The handbrake is fine its just the foot brake.

I got Renault to take a look and they said its the compensator not working. I took a look myself and there was no link between the compensator and the rear suspension, which normally there should be. I pointed this out to Renault and they looked into it and came back to me and said the cup is not supposed to have one, but they still thought the compensator was at fault. Then they called me to say they had another cup with the same problem and had decided that it was working correctly as if they got a man to push the compensator lever during the brake test the brakes worked fine.

They now tell me they are getting the ministry of transport man out to have a look and tell him this is the way its supposed to be.

Any one else had this problem?

Thanks
Mark

Havent heard this for a while, from what i remember of the millionbillion threads on it, cups never had them. How can it be faulty if the car doesnt use it? lol, typical renault grease monkies.....
