Brake light problem...help please??

I have a problem with my rear brake lights, both the left and right hand side lights dont seem to be working. I have tried new bulbs, still didn't work. I then checked the fuse which was also okay.

The brake light strip above the rear window works so i cant see it being the switch at the brake pedal.

Does anyone know what the problem may be?? My car needs its MOT this month and it will fail on this.
