Brake Pad Recommendations...

  20VT Clio & 9-5 HOT

Think im getting ready for some new pads, as ive heard grinding for the past week or so when i brake....and they seem a bit poor compared to usual.

Any recommendations? Thought about GreenStuff pads? Anyone had any experience with em?

Also were is the best place to purchase. In fact for any mods for mi motor? Larkspeed is very near to were I work. I know their a bit crap but I cant really think of anywhere else. Any ideas?

Cheers for any advice lads (and lasses)!!

I will recommend the greenstuff pads as i have been using them for over a year and i love them.

I would stick with big name brands, EBC i have only had poor experiences with, and so have some friends, and one person had them actually fall aprt on him!
EBC green and red stuff =poor
EBC blue and yellow are ok, yellow more ok than blue. Im talknig quality not performance.

Iw ould only use Ferodo, Mintex, and pagid. but thats just me, and i only use the best.

Ferodo - DS2000 (extremely good, but expensive)
MIntex - 1144 (also very very good)
Pagid - cant remember model, but run up to 600 or so deg c

i would go for mintex as for the road, there all yuoll need, i use them on the tack and theyre fine.

ferodo if you want to spend the extra dish, and pagid work up to higher temps but do need mild warming up.

Choice is yours my firend!

If your fitting just the front pads they are a piece of p*ss!

Jack up
take wheels off
unscrew the guide pins
remove caliper and old pads
push piston back in
fit new pads
replace caliper and wheels

Cool, sounds like a beast! Bet the conversion gives a bit more torque as well?

Think ill give the fiting a go. Cheers for the advice.

Do u think my rear disks may have been damaged from the scraping ive been hearing. Only seems to happen at very low speeds, and I can hear the noise for a while even after i let my foot of the break?!

Well, Ive run Mintex M1144s and Pagids on my old 106 GTi and they were great pads for both road & track use.

My mate has got Ferrodo DS2000s on ihs Rallye and they are very good too.

Do not get EBC ones, Ive had them and they are toss!

I only have a humble 1.4.

DONT go for green stuff - they suck!

I now have red.dot but they aint much better. But then, ANYTHINGs better than standard!

Depends on how you drive as to which to go for!

(My green stuffs only lasted 4000miles and I never took it on a track day - it was pretty much all motorway driving!)
