Brake problem

Every now and then I get the stop light and brake light show up on my dash. It seems to go after lifting the handbrake up and down a few times. Not sure if its the sensor sticking, as it only happens after Ive used the handbrake.

Have no idea how long Ive got the car for (only been given a week till car taken away), and I seem to be stopping ok when I brake, so is it something worth going back to renault for?

brake fluid probably, check your pads though

the rear shoes are well know for failing, so might be an idea to pop the drums off and have a look

Ahh, so the light comes on if pads are low too? Never had a modern car before, so didnt think itll tell me of worn pads . Its probably the pads being worn then, as they are starting to squeal every now and then

I have the same thing on my 172 but I put it down to the handbrake. I have to park it on my drive which is a slope so pull the handbrake on pretty tight.

My old Clio did the same buuuut my cars gonna have its first new set of brake pads soon so sounds like could be that.
