I did see on my way out they had got the tractor out so assumed that people were getting stuck, but the fiver extra to park on the south back was well worth it today. We watched the third stage from the car with the heater on.
The number 20 Clio was doing really well in the morning stages holding its own against so much more powerful cars in the rain. But that 306 maxi was well sorted showing the ex wrc focus a fresh pair of heels, just goes to show what a fwd can do.
Yeah, with a LSD, on mostly tarmac, there's no real reason 4WD would be overly helpful, especially in the summer stages... Although the mk2 escorts will still be brilliant as always...
Steve Quigley Car 20 was 5th overall
Robinson car 96 was 10th overall.
Love to know the spec of car 96 (already know car 20, it's been on here a while back)
Car 96 was a converted Cup Racer. Did get a quick look at it in the service area but never saw it with the bonnet up so don't know what the engine was like. It was being run by Steve Perez's team. He set the fastest overall time in it on SS2 I believe.
Car 96 was Scootys old car. Spec similar to mine but runs a F4R engine (K-tec one, been rebuilt about 4 times I believe).
We were joint leaders with the 306 Maxi after stage 2 but once it stopped raining the WRC and Millington Escort and Darrians caught me up. 306 Maxi rev limiter it set at 10.5krpm as it a new engine, normally 11.2k!!!!!!! There engines are worth more than my car.!! First time there for me and really enjoyed it.
