yeah they do help a little. they need cleaning and oiling at least once a year tho.
also remove the top cold air feed into the airbox, and remove the acoustic valve (guide on here). it will all help very slightly towards making it breathe better. dont expect power gains to, just seems to rev easier and sound a little better.
from there next step would be matched inlets.
