breather pipe?

  No more clio's for me!
Apologies if this is a dumbass Q, but does this have to be connected??

Got an ITG panel filter on the way and thinking of replacing the stock air filter to intake pipe with a silicon one like this...

Any implications?

are you installing a pannel filter or induction kit? it looks like a 90 degree elbow that people use for IK's

The breather pipe doesn't have to be connected but you've got to either use a small crankcase filter on the end (preferably routed down to the underside of the car) or an oil catch can.

You can just stick a Filter breather. (PiperX do them) But the car will stink if you store it in a garage over nite.

Cheers Guys...so does the crankcase filter just sit on the end of the breather pipe?

Is it worth me replacing the stock intake pipe and doing this, will i notice any difference?

Read a lot of blurb on sites about this elbow de-restricting airflow but I think that's just B.S

It'll look good though

I'd leave it connected, the 172/182 has a tiny and inadequate breather area as is, just leaving it to pump out, i wouldnt.
