Broken Driveshaft

my left hand drive shaft broke last night

any ideas of wot price i should pay to get it fixed?

new or second hand with labour

is it hard to fix or could i do it myself?

thanks

its a 92 1.8 16V

r all clio mk1 driveshafts the same?

ie would one out of a 1.2 do the same job or are the 16v ones uprated?

had mine done bout 2 months ago and cost £110 + fitting but i was having my gearbox done at the time so dont know wot the labour was,it was a genuine renault 1 aswell

im not exactly sure its broken but when i select a gear it just sits and makes a noise like its ringin the end of somethin.

i just hope its not the gearbox!!

when i jack it up and turn the wheel, its like the driveshaft is in two parts because i can hear them clunking together

I had the same problem like a loud clonking noise. i replaced the near side drive shaft which cost me £25 from a renault and peugot specialist but has turned out to be the gearbox aswell so i am waiting for that to be replaced at the moment. Then i will back on the road. Its been a month off the road at the moment, im nearing suicide with out my car

you need a pal at a renault garage I got a nearside driveshaft for my beastly 19 for 47 quid.

When you let the clutch out does the engine move left and right?

Do you see the driveshaft spinning?

took it to a specialist this morning and he said that by the sound of it, the cog wheel has just either slipped out of the diff or had rung the teeth on the cog wheel.

im hoping its this and not the gearbox!"!!
