new to it and moving objects, learnt a few things after trial and error, really found it hard tracking sometimes and focus, although i did figure to focus on the area i wanted to take the snap, then track and capture around that area. C+C welcome, although i am a beginner and really do appreciate the help :)

cheers,
Mark

Some nice shots.
I stayed on the other side of the track, didn't know until later that you could get opposite side of the pits. I know for next time though.
I like the second shot, I wanted to try to get that type of angle but found it hard. It was so busy!

cheers, i took so many shots, tried experimenting and so at the mo i am sifting through stuff thinking 'should have nailed that one', got loads from there too, Deer's Leap. missed the rider that fell off due to my pal saying lets go, got halfway up the hill then watched the crash! was very annoyed, but got some of the rider punching a wall.

im happy with a lot of the pics even though they aren't as sharp, that bottom pic is one of my faves from the day

I’d probably say to practise panning; lower the shutter speed and pan or track the bike to get some nice background blur to show the motion of the bike :)

cheers Niall, id figured by Saturday afternoon tracking was going to be the best way to get a decent snap, just finding tracking while focussing hard so id found focus at a certain area, along with iso and adjusting the shutter speed, and sometimes due to sun brightness levels some pics look a bit washed out.

incidently, for most of the time i was shooting 2-800 iso for as much as i could and a shutter speed to balance the light. f was 4.5-5.2 i think for a great portion of pics i took.

appreciate the advice though, will continue :)

Have a read over the Motorsport Photography sticky thread at the top of this section too, it’s a great guide :)

I didn't touch the iso at all for mine. Left it in auto.
For panning I use shutter priority, take it down to whatever you want to use. Some of the shots I got I used Apature priority when playing around. Never went full manual though.

What camera's are you guys using.. I went to the first meeting at oulton and took some pictures with my Nikon p510 cool pix thing il upload a few example since the subject the same but I tried with shutter priority etc and just get a black screen so i just leave it on auto :( once I master this il get a dslr..

You'll be getting the black screen because the camera is exposed for something extremely bright, so try bringing the shutter speed down, aperture larger (smaller number) and the ISO higher.
