BTCC @ Rockingham 2013

Never been to Rockingham as a spectator before. Very tough circuit for photography if you don't have a media pass. It's a very fency affair. I found one spot where there were no fences obstructing the shot (Paddock roof) and the cars were simply going in a straight line and were quite far away.

The other spots I found were all obstructed by fences... Anyway, enough excuses...

Paddock Tunnel by Tom Cash, on Flickr

I had a 'Go HARD or go home' attitude, shooting at 1/20, 1/30 all day. Not as good as I'd like to be, but this is only my fourth motorsport panning event to date.

Practice makes perfect!

Feedback welcome as always!

Different selection of pictures, including some Formula Ford and a tidy phase 1 V6 on my website:

Thanks for looking!

Tom.

Like these, Tom.
Really sharp panning and interesting compositions too.
The tunnel shot is really different and I like that too!

Love the 'go hard or go home' attitude, it's hard work but so rewarding. The pans are really nice, but I actually really like the Ginettas and tunnel shots!

Thanks Ben! They have a similar tunnel when you drive in and it's marked as the "exhaust appreciation tunnel". :D

Thank you. :D I think I'd rather come away with 5/6 solid keepers at 1/20 - 1/30 than 100 at 1/80 - 1/100 now.

I jumped a barrier for that Ginetta shot. No one seemed to mind. :| Love the BTCC. Imagine that at the F1. I'd have made the news! "Crazed loon jumps F1 barrier, tries to kill Alonso."

Remember that tunnel :) Rockingham's amazing.
Nice pics.
Thank you! :D

good shots! you can get close to tarzan if you walk infield and stand on the raised stage they have there too for future reference.
