Thanks for the replies chaps

I hear what you're saying, I swapped my silly aftermarket wheels and tyres (that came with the car) for OEM units before Xmas, at some expense. I have done 19k since September in the car so tyres on the front don't last long at all. I'm strapped for cash right now, with one thing and another and looking at mytyres.com I see some Kumho and other manufacturers have got some good reviews.

I had Yokohamas on my Bimmer, and the grip in the dry was immense. I'm a big fan of the Continentals (I think they are) I have on the 172 now, but can't afford to shell out £75 a corner every 6 months.

Any ideas....

If you're going for the Toyos you might as well go for the P-Zeros - a lot of the supercars use them, though they are a slightly different version admittedly.

Someone on here ran P-Zero's for a while and found them alright I think. The F1s are superb though. You may need to budget a tenner for fitting though, so not making them much cheaper than PE2s.

Toyos will see you alright over summer I reckon - cheap but grippy in the dry, just have to play carefully in the wet.

Are the Pirelli's a safe bet then, they're on the money. A place I know'll fit 'em for £5 a corner, so it's not too bad.
