Bumper fixed

  BMW E46 330i Touring
For those that know the car at all, I've had a nagging hole beside one of the exhaust cut-outs since I bought her in September. I got it sorted out today and am really pleased with the results.

Took it to The Plastic Surgeon in Marsh Barton, very impressive outift compared to a lot of bodyshops / garages in the area. Much friendlier and more organised.

Probably cost me more than it needed to, but my mum's had some work done there recently and their work really is top quality. One less thing I need to get sorted out! Next on the list is my 60k service and get the Carlton boys to have a look at a sticky throttle...

Before I bought the car, the previous owner had the 182 bumper fitted and got the backbox to match made up. But when the backbox was originally settling, it was resting against the right-hand cut out and the heat burnt the hole there.

I'm not sure if he fitted the surrounds afterwards, but they've certainly been worn away since also!

 I know...

It's because the backbox is still mounted in the same place as standard on the 172, so there is a pipe going from there right across the rear bumper to both exit pipes, the weight just makes it sag.

I tried to get it straightened, but because of the stupid rubbers Renault use to mount the exhaust, it needs to have plenty of flex otherwise it'll just snap, so wonky it stays. It wasn't as noticable before my centre section broke, a new mounting rubber has turned out to be more flexible tha the old one.
