Burning Oil

How much (if any) oil should my car burn? I havent had to put extra oil in a petrol car before between services! This is the second month in a row ive put some in the Williams.

It seems to be using about 1/8th per 1000miles - thats a very very rough guess BTW!

Is this normal?

Mines does too, but the engine is running fine. I just keep feeding it. In fact, since i started using Halfords own fully synth stuff, its stopped sounding like a tractor in the morning. Still uses oil up though

16vs/williamss do use oil.

Renault allow a max of 500ml per 1000miles, any more and there is something wrong.

Mine has used about 300ml in the last 2000miles.

Cheers guys - the cars running fine so I hoped it would be ok. im using some super expensive stuff and the GF managed to spill most of the 5 litres over the shed floor - Grrrrr
