Burning Smell - Bulb

Just put a new bulb in, tried the lights and theres a burning smell?

Is this normal?

Some people have too much time on their hands

A 55W normal 'lamp' shouldn't cause a burning smell.

I put the cap on and the smell goes so im happy now :rasp:

The offside is such a b*****d to fit, any tips?
