burning smell + emissions light

Just been out to the car and noticed the emissions lights on the dash.


Ive had this come on a few times and just erased it with my code reader.


I left the engine running for a while and have noticed there's a burning smell coming from the engine:S

As anyone any ideas as to what the problem could be?


I dont fancy erasing the error just in case its something more major wrong.


Would the code reader actually tell me the fault?

Well if theres a burning smell then that should be a dead give away that theres something wrong?

Check your sensors.
