Busy Weekend! (56K boil the kettle..)

Right well I've had a busy couple of days and I thought I'd show you all the labour thats been going on on the Clio. You may have seen in another thread that my wheels arrived midweek so itching to get them on, Saturday morning I went up to my mates house (he has a long drive and the facilities) and we began work at just gone 10am.

Bleary eyed we set about removing the centre caps from all 4 standard 5 spoke's and loosened all the nuts in each wheel, only slightly though! Next step was to jack the front end up and begin removing and replacing. After a couple of hours of hard graft and the occasional tea break we had finished, so we slowly dropped the car, moved everything, stood back and had a look. I was pleased with the result as it doesn't look too high, although many will say it will.

I tried not to make it look too chavtastic as I really didn't want to look like I'd covered my car in glue and drove through Halfords, I find people like that amusing. I'm going the for the subtle approach, as you can tell because my next plans, hopefully, are 172 rear bumpers and perhaps some nice 172/182 skirts. I don't want it to look like it should be parked in McDonalds car park with 14 year olds surrounding it listening to the "bangin' tunes?". Anyway we then took mine and his out in the country as the weather was beautiful for a quick photoshoot.

In addition, I have had a gripe with the little silver strips in the interior, under the airbag/above the glove box + near the keyhole. They are the only silver bit on the car and don't quite understand why they're silver, they're not even a funny green colour like the Extreme seats, just sort of misplaced really. So until I can get them color coded maybe in pearl black I have done a temporary fix, in carbon effect. 10 minutes, job done. Please express all opinions (especially on the lights on the rear of the Rover, as I think they're silly :rasp:).

Cheers!

And finally the small interior modification, probably contraversial.

Well that's it! I'd really like to know what you all think. I don't think I've gone overboard and if I have then please tell me how. I understand it's only a 1.2 but I'm not trying to make it look something it's not, and I believe the wheels suit it. I've also been asked what wheels they were when I went to the cashpoint by some middle aged bloke, who said they suited the car. So I must be doing something right. Any comments appreciated, many thanks!

No I don't like his lights, he keeps banging on about different ones for mine but I wanna keep it as standard as possible and use as many genuine Renault parts if I'm going to use any. Any more comments?

Looks good mate, like the c/f. Just you wait until Middo see's that! lol

Yeah, keeping standard look is the way forward, anything else generally looks too 'chavvy'

... well I'm fresh out of real carbon fibre. I did say it was a temporary fix, I want them body colored like in the sports where you get a blue one, and so on. But until then, it's a heat formed film. You wave a heat gun over it and it shapes to the object.

It took you a couple of hours for 2 of you to change over 4 wheels!!!!! I changed all 4 wheels on a Celica (front to back and back to front) and only had a spare to work with and only took me 30mins by myself.

Looks good though, they just dont look as good as Supper Turismos for some reason :S

Take the extreme stickers of the sides, fit some blue vison light bulbs, these look really subtle, and get it lowered, coils if u can afford it.

I've never done it before, and we weren't exactly rushing, sorta did 1 and wandered off for 5 mins, plus a couple of neighbours came over for a chat, as they do.

And if I could afford SuperTurismo's I would mate, I'm trying to find a happy medium.

as said mate looks good, wheels suit it a lot more than the originals if you can get it lowered now will look great.
if you have to green seats try and get that bit painted to match really sets of the dash
