Caining it hard

  Civic Type R EK9
Has anyone really cained it downhill through twisties i mean full on got to the bottom had a little brake fade and seen smoke coming up past window from brakes? lol just did it looked awesome!!

Now my brakes are probs knackered;)

I mean if you park up with smoking brakes and put the handbrake on, the pads will be touching the disk and may well cause warping due to the way it will affect the cooling down process!

I'd always give it a few minutes pootling down after a hot run - gives the engine, brakes etc time to cool down a bit :)

yeh i think it will be ok as i drove about 3 miles after reasonable to let um cool and went outside just after it all happened about 10-15mins ago and there cold on the back

You've probably boiled your brakefluid and put loads of air in the system.

Have a look at the top of the brake fluid bottle and see if it's overflowed at all.

If you've induced enough heat to fade the brakes (bearing in mind the cooling from 182 wheels is s**t) this heat eventually transfers through to the fluid, I did it on my old 1.6

yeh ive drove loads of cars and made um fade really bad and they have been ok will double check 2moro night tho

Yeah, it will be ok but you might need to bleed the brakes and top the fluid up thats all.

Lol... reps don't spam...

I'd check your fluid out tbh, if it was mine i'd bleed and top it up :)

lol mods do tho!!! there aint no point in bleeding it if its ok which 99% will be as if there was air in system i would notice by the feel

no, thats DOT5.1

I would only use dot4 on the road, dot 5.1 needs regular flushing and servicing or its performance is below that of dot4.
