calculating performance from PTW ratio?

Car  Meg on pistonheads £6995
Hi,

about a year ago, I remember seeing a weblink to a site where you typed in the weight of a car and the BHP and it gave you 'estimated' performance figures?

You could work out the kind of gain a 20bhp 'chip' upgrade might give you!

anyone?

nice one - thanks!

but 'unchipped' doesn't even make the bottom of the scale cos starts at 95bhp/tonne!

If your car has less than 95hp/tonne........you will not be-able to buy a 'chip' that will give you 20bhp!

You can't accurately calculate a cars performance just from it's power to weight ratio, there are so many other factors to consider, such as gear ratio's, aerodynamics, traction, etc...
