Caliper problem

  Clio 172
Ive had a problem with my 172 for a few weeks now it drifts to the right when driving along normally and under hard braking it will shoot off to the right.Ive been to a tyre, wheel specialist they said it isnt tracking which my immediate thought so been to my local Renault specialist and there really clutching at straws to what it is,they did mention the caliper could be knackered and in need of repair.Would that make sense??Also as they want it in to look it over peoperly and it does happen to be the caliper how much would i be looking to pay out?

I checked the tyre pressures when the problem first started a few weeks back 32psi was both sides.Ive been told the shock absorbers are beginning to wear on that side too but as to discovering what the problem is i have no idea. Its stumped me after being told it isnt the tracking

seized caliper then, hopefully just a case of strip down clean, re-grease and re-build. Depends how bad it is really. I got a pair of second hand calipers that were nice and free off here for £35

Ive got the car booked into the garage for tomorrow morning for them to have a proper look at it and find out what is wrong. However im now beginning to panic slightly as when i spoke to the mechanic he said he doubted it was the caliper as the wheels were spinning fine and there was no noticeable problem there. He did say that the worst case senerio is that it is the diff............Could this really be the problem? I havent noticed any knocking, rattling, banging at all and round corners and roundabouts it handles well.

Big news boys, ive decided im selling the clio going for a fabia vrs, selling mine for £4400 ono i was shocked to see on autotrader that the value of 172's have incresed quite abit now.Two people who know alot more about cars drove the car and couldnt notice anything wrong even under heavy braking.
