Calling in a favour ....

Hi guys/girls

Pretty upsetting times at the moment :(. Been a bad month for the RB 182 Cup, with alloys being curbed, hares being hit etc. and now a nice front end prang at the weekend ....

I'm currently awaiting the assessor to decide on whether it is going to be a total loss or repairable. But basically if they do write it off I'd quite like to rebuild it as I have only owned the car since October and have loved every second of owning it, even down to the late nights faffing about at the workshop!

My Father went to look at the car today and wrote a reasonable list of parts that he could immediately see I'd need. I am now currently pricing up said parts in the hope that the bill will warrant buying the car off the insurance company and then me rebuilding it to it's former glory.:drunk:

Now, im asking if there are any fine people on here connected with Renault in some special way, namely able to get new/genuine Renault parts at cheaper prices (read trade) to the general Joe public. I'd quite like to go down the new genuine route, but unfortunately Renault have a very unique pricing system (mega money). If there is anyone on here that can get Renault parts at trade prices or know of anyone who could help me, I would be eternalllyyy grateful.

I'm not expecting anyone to just do this out of the goodness of their hearts, although it would be nice :) so I would also put a bit of money their way in lieu of thanks :approve:

Hoping someone can help,
Jon

It's worth buying back off the insurance to break it, Would be a good project to rebuild it though, Any pictures of the damage?

Car sounds jinxed ! Run awaaaaaayyyyy !!!

But if you do buy it back, presuming it comes to that, find someone breaking one and do it that way. I'm hoping it's not gone into the side of a bus at 70mph though ?!

Genuine Renault parts are hilariously priced. If you end up buying a second hand bumper from someone else, remember that it is still a genuine part ;)

Unfortunately the old man isn't very handy with a camera...

Also if anyone knows of any 2nd hand parts in good nick, that could also work :)

Looks like you have bent a fair few bits in the bay, Bumper will cost a fair few quid to get sprayed & the bonnet / light etc soon add up, At a guess it will be 1k + to repair, Buy it back and break it is the best option to be honest. You can pick up an ok rb cup for £2.5-3k and if it get's registered as a cat d or c it won't be worth much over 2k. If you plan to keep it then repair it :)

Yer I see what you're saying cotball, just haven't got the room to put it somewhere n break it tho :(

I had envisioned keeping it and tracking it, but being realistic this probably isn't going to happen.

So really the options are take the payout or buy it back. Trouble is if i take the payout I'm then stuck on what to get.

I hate decisions ....

Or buy it back and stick it on ebay as a spares project, I reckon like that it will fetch £1000-£1200

Buy this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280811328...AX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_630wt_1185 , Needs cambelt doing but very low miles and tidy bar the small stonechip on the wing.
