Calling The Scots

  Saab 93 Aero Wagon
I need a favour from anyone in the Glasgow or Inverness areas!

Im driving up to Fort William tomorrow and am staying near Fort William. Spean Bridge to be precise. But as my girlfriend an I are gonna be driving around quite alot, I was wondering if anyone would be willing to lend me their mobile number for me to keep incase something untoward may happen out on the roads.

Its a strange request i know but having a Cup with no spare wheel and only 2 cans of foam, I can see me gettin stranded if say i wallop something with a wheel and bust a tyre, so being able to contact someone local and familiar to my cause who would be able to help out would be a great help....it prob won't be needed but im not really keen on risking it up there!

If anyone is willing to lend me their mob number just for a week incase of an emergency, i'd be very thankful, so if you are please PM me.

Many thanks

  VW ....
^typical cup driver though ... always trying to save a few quid ;)

No i don't have either unfortunately.

I know i'll live to regret it one day. I just hope its not anytime next week.

Can you call them out without having their cover? If so how much do they charge?

Shows how little i've looked into breakdown coverage.:S

Well any number would be grand really..just be nice to know i could call on someone to lend me a wheel if it was needed! I'd obviously reimburse any petrol costs.

And yes, before you all get on at me as i'd expect, i know i should have looked into getting the AA or RAC for some breakdown coverage. My bad.

Think you may have left it too late to sign up now if you want it before the weekend...might be worth a go though as they charge something like an extra £50 if you call them out as soon as you sign up...

Its all good people. Kiev has very kindly lent me his number incase something dramatically goes wrong, and me the Southern Softy gets stuck in the wilderness! :dead:

Many thanks though people....and i think the RAC will be gettin a new member by the end of the month!

I predict the loss of a few more Cups before season is over.

I predict the loss of lots of cars before the season is over, especally if people drive like numptys so im no worse off than anyone else in my opinion.

middle of the week next week...im not sure tho..i heard it on the bbc weather..

Yeah i just checked it out on Metwatch and it looks like snow on Monday but then wet stuff Tuesday and Wednesday before a proper days worth of snow Thursday!

True, but he may have one lying about...or even just a steelie to get me outta trouble. Either way, to be able to call on someone is pretty important IMO

lol southern softy alright, It's hardly a quiet road between Glasgow and Fort Bill, I have no spare wheel and have done 30k miles on these roads without a puncture, don't panic!

Down the A82 from Glasgow to Dumbarton is all inhabited and pretty densely populated. Then along Loch Lomond side is all tourist central, the caravan route in the summer, Tarbet will have garages, as does Arrochar just round the corner. Then when you turn off to follow the A82 towards crianlarich there's campsites, hotels, pubs, bus stops, etc etc and garages in Crianlarich.

Make sure you stop at the Real Food Cafe in Tyndrum for a fish supper - it really is the best ANYWHERE.

Then a wee bit up the road and you're in Fort William and it's got garages galore. Honestly don't worry bout it, could always try: 0800 085 8005 - Renault Assist Number

was starting to think that now...but alas...ive paid it...

only had to break my back working over christmas to do it...

hope we see a bit of snow, makes a change from all the bloody rain
