hi, recently bought a 182 on a 05 plate with 52k. i can't find any history of the car having a cam or aux belt. after reading about all the problems i figure i should get this done asap. could someone tell me exactly what parts are needed and if possible part no's and prices? thanks.

You need a cambelt kit and aux belt kit. Cambelt kit consists of the belt and idlers. the aux belt kit consists of the belt and idler/tensioner. Pm tom off here he works for wests renault he will give you part numbers and prices.

Dephaser is a separate part yeh. I just had mine replaced during the week along with all the belts and the water pump. The dephaser pulley is £156.00 of the top of my head.

Haha yeah it's not cheap. Tbh mate you don't have to replace the dephaser pulley if it's not faulty I only replaced mine for a piece of mind same with the water pump. You also need x2 cam caps.

No it isn't cheap but needs doing. I know what you mean about peace of mind, same reason I'd do mine. May as well do the water pump at the same time. Thanks for the link, looks pretty good value.

Also Make sure who ever does the work has all 3 locking tools.

Yeah I've read a lot on here about the right tools so was gonna take it to a dealer. Any reason you don't usually change the water pump?

Your cars only on 52k mate.

I'd personally leave the water pump and dephaser. Its not done enough miles to warrant changing it.
