CAMBELT CHANGE IN E.MIDLANDS

Anyone know where i can get a cheap cambelt change in the east midlands?? Renault quoted me £600! went down my local garage this morning and they didnt really wanna know, apparently the 16vs a b**ch to work on. They were saying they might need a special kit to get access to the cambelt and tighten it up, what are they talking about???
